August 19
Seattle, Washington
My friend Sam and I were walking back after a long day of touring the city when a lady shouted after us to catch our attention. Professing herself trustworthy by pointing out her injuries, this woman didn't even stop for a breathe until I interrupted her and asked for her name. Marlene, and older black woman stuck on the street left desperate looking for $17 to be able to get a hostile for the night. We handed her the money and I have never seen anyone so thankful for such little but she taught me something that night.
Hunger that brings humility, when you have nothing, there is nothing to compare it to.
To think she had no one to take care of her, leaving her trusting only in complete strangers for her next meal and or shelter.
PRAY provision for Marlene, that God himself would show up and provide, and she would understand her Father in heaven hasn't given up on her.
